Explorer of the World ~ Opportunity of a Lifetime
Ever since I was a young child, I have been an explorer of the world. In this photo, I was 15 and exploring the outdoors on my cross country skis along the Yellowstone RIver in Glendive, MT. I have always loved the outdoors and any adventure in which I could go and learn new information about the land and people. I remember when I was twelve, I saved every penny I had to buy the skis and poles I am using in the photo. If you want to be an "explorer of the world", nothing can stop you because you can do it right in your own backyard or dream and save for an adventure to learn about the world beyond where you live. Being selected as a Grosvenor Teacher Fellow and going on an expedition, allows me continue to be an explorer of the world and share my experience with my students, colleagues, community and anyone else who is interested in this expedition. The purpose of this blog is to share my journey to Antarctica and while doing so try answer or research burning questions you might have about this area. I feel SO incredibly honored to be a Grosvenor Teacher Fellow. A huge thanks goes out to National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions for making this dream a reality for me. I hope you enjoy my posts and information and please feel free to ask questions along the way!
