About Beth

Beth currently teaches 9th grade Earth and Space science at Great Falls High School. Previously, she taught middle school science, environmental education and technology in the Great Falls Public Schools. In addition, she is an adjunct professor at the University of Great Falls. Beth was a TEA fellow to Ukraine in 2011 and worked with students and teachers in Nouvokrainka. She was awarded the Montana Presidential Award in 2004, the Montana Middle School Science Teacher of the Year in 2003, and was a finalist for the Montana Teacher of the Year in 2011. She has done astronomical research with students using data from the Spitzer Space Telescope and researched bryophytes in the Pacific Northwest. She is passionate about science and helping students become informed decision makers in our world and is excited to share her voyage to Antarctica with her students. Beth is married and has three grown children. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, reading, cooking, photography, spending time with her family, and of course being an explorer of the world. |
