I have always felt like getting ready for an adventure really is half the fun! So what am I doing in July to prepare for this once in a lifetime event that is 150 days away?
- Learning everything I can about Antarctica and the Arctic. Reading Antarctica history, penguins, climate change, politics, the food and any other interesting information that crosses my path. I have a tab on this blog called "Resources" if you care to check out some of the digital links I have posted. I have set up a Pinterest Board with great resources and potential ideas for incorporating/sharing information in my classroom.
- Learning Spanish - since I will be spending a couple of days in Buenos Aires and 10 days in Chile after the expedition, I want to be able to learn some basic conversational Spanish.
- Making contacts with community members who may want to have me speak about and share my experience with them.
- Putting things aside for the expedition. Believe it or not, I have a pile of materials including my travel documents, business cards, a few Montana souvenirs I have collected and a journal.
